I: $66,288 - $92,820 annually
II: $80,940 - $113,316 annually
III: $102,492 - $143,460 annually

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Provide legal advice, support and representation for the District in advisory, transactional and other legal matters as assigned by the Chief Counsel. Upon hire, the incumbent will focus primarily on the preparation and review of procurement documents, construction contracts, real property-related documents and other agreements.

Attorney I: Handle basic transactional matters, which may include insurance, procurement, contract, environmental, permit, real property, development, transit, civil rights, labor, personnel, pension, funding, and administrative law issues. Assist with developing guidelines, procedures, and forms to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Prepare responses to staff inquiries, work with staff to obtain factual background, conduct and analyze legal research, draft written responses with legal conclusions, and conduct appropriate follow-up to ensure resolution. Identify and analyze legal issues, conduct legal research, discuss issues with supervisor, and prepare draft memorandum and opinions. Review, revise, prepare district policies, issue papers, resolutions and ordinances. Other related duties as assigned.

Prepare responses to staff inquiries, work with staff to obtain factual background, conduct and analyze legal research, draft written responses with legal conclusions, advise staff, conduct appropriate follow-up to ensure resolution, interpret existing District agreements, and advise management and staff of interpretation. Other related duties as assigned.

Other related duties as assigned.
