On Monday, January 18, 2016, Sacramento Regional Transit District (RT) employees will join thousands of marchers for the annual Capitol March for the Dream. RT participation is one component of RT’s 8th annual “Season of Civil Rights … It All Started on a Bus” campaign to build awareness about the significant role that transit played in the American Civil Rights Movement. Mike Wiley, General Manager/CEO, will serve as Grand Marshal of the march.
At the conclusion of the six-mile march at the Sacramento Convention Center, RT will offer supplemental bus service to return participants to the starting points at the Oak Park Community Center, Sacramento City College and Grant Union High School.
RT will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. RT’s administrative offices at 1400 29th Street, Call Center, and Customer Service and Sales Center at 1225 R Street will be closed.
