Tickets are selling fast for a seat at the “Transit Means Business” luncheon where expert John Martin, CEO of Southeastern Institute of Research, intends to discuss emerging trends among millennials. Martin, known for his thought provoking dialogue, will focus on the generation’s preferences and their potential impacts on the nation’s business sector.

Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) and the Sacramento Metro Chamber will host the first Transit Means Business luncheon on Wednesday, June 7, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento, located at 1209 L Street.

“RT is excited to feature such a dynamic and relevant speaker at the first “Transit Means Business” luncheon,” said Henry Li, SacRT’s General Manager/CEO. “We know from experience that the Sacramento region is experiencing a major shift in its own transportation needs, and Martin’s insight helps to explain the changing trends.”

Researchers contend that millenials will make up 44% of the nation’s workforce by 2025, and Martin maintains that their impact on public transportation will be transformative. The nationally renowned speaker is well known for his insight into changing demographics, including cultural and technological trends that are having a profound impact on today’s transportation industry.

“We are pleased to be able to co-host this exciting event and hope business leaders walk away with a transformed perspective of what our future transportation

system could provide to the region’s workforce,” said SacRT Board Chair Andy Morin. “It’s our hope the business community will get out in front of emerging trends, so that we are economically competitive in terms of meeting millennial expectations by 2025.”

Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg will be among the distinguished guests, and is scheduled to provide some insightful remarks after the keynote address.

To register for the “Transit Means Business” luncheon, visit metrochamber.org or contact mjohnston@metrochamber.org – tickets are $65.
