SACRAMENTO, CA – The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) has announced the addition of Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) General Manager/CEO Henry Li to its Board of Directors. APTA is an international association of over 1,500 public and private sector organizations, engaged in the areas of bus, paratransit, light rail, commuter rail, subways, waterborne services, and intercity and high-speed passenger rail. As an APTA Board Member, Li will work to strengthen and improve public transportation through advocacy, innovation and information sharing.

Central to the goals of APTA leadership is the ability to provide continued, and above all, stable federal funding for public transit providers and capital projects. Serving as an APTA Board Member and Board Finance Committee Member, Li’s work on APTA’s national platform will greatly benefit Sacramento’s many communities. A targeted focus for the use of federal funds combined with local efforts to augment transportation dollars for transit is already underway in Sacramento California, with Li pushing the issue at every opportunity.

“The importance of the work that we do for the transit industry, its employees, communities and the people we serve is a high priority for me,” said Henry Li, SacRT General Manager/CEO. “My goal as an APTA Board Member is to help advance the public transit industry to strengthen key economic policy areas; identify opportunities for advancing innovative transportation technology, such as on-demand service,
autonomous and electric vehicles, and mobile apps to attract more businesses and a quali?ed workforce to the Sacramento region.”
