SACRAMENTO, CA – Still have Christmas gifts to return? The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is now making it possible for passengers to reach Delta Shores, the region’s newest shopping destination. Starting Monday, January 8, SacRT’s Route 65 will begin taking riders to Delta Shores from the Franklin light rail station.

Previously, Route 65 traveled between the University/65th Street and Franklin light rail stations via Power Inn Road, Florin Road and Franklin Boulevard. With the new extension to Delta Shores, buses will now travel non-stop from the Franklin Station to the new shopping center located on Cosumnes River Boulevard near Interstate 5. The extension will not affect the current bus schedule -- All trip times will remain the same.

“This is just the first of many service enhancements that SacRT is preparing to unveil in the months ahead,” said General Manager/CEO Henry Li. “It is our responsibility to serve the Sacramento community and help people travel to where they need to go.”

Merlone Geier Partners, the Delta Shores property management company, is pleased over the news that SacRT will soon be providing service to the popular destination site. "Delta Shores is excited about the final piece coming into place to connect our project to the transit system for the city of Sacramento, providing greater access to the entire community," says Gary Muljat, Vice President, Merlone Geier Partners.

Route 65 will continue to operate hourly Monday through Friday, with the first trip beginning in the 6:00 a.m. hour and the last trip during the 7:00 p.m. hour. The new Route 65 map and schedule can be found on sacrt.com.
