SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE AND TYPING CERTIFICATE ARE REQUIRED AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of routine Administrative and office support tasks, respond to customer service inquiries and provide administrative support to the assigned organizational function. This current vacant position will primarily provide support to the General Manager’s office and assist EMT staff with various administrative and support tasks. An eligibility list will be created for filing future vacancies throughout the District.

  

Essential Functions

• Provides administrative support by receiving and screening telephone inquiries and visitors, responding to routine questions and providing information, typing, sorting, filing documents, copying, scanning and/or faxing documents, assisting with completion of routine forms, opening and distributing mail and preparing outgoing mail.

• Prepares monthly reports by entering, tracking, recording, and reporting data into automated database system and gathering and summarizing information.

• Provides meeting support by attending various inter-departmental committees and preparing various correspondence by typing, scanning, faxing, and mailing various documents.

• Provides information for employee-related activities by scheduling, preparing and delivering packets, bulletins, or fliers for special events and participating in special projects.

  

Minimum Qualifications

Education:  High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:  A minimum of six (6) months of general office or administrative support experience.

Required Computer Skills: Basic word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software.

TYPING REQUIREMENT

Applicants must have the ability to type accurately at a net rate of 40 words per minute. At time of application, applicants must submit typing certificate, less than two (2) years old (dated between April 18, 2017 and May 1, 2019), and MUST include: (1) A statement that it was a 5-minute timed test; (2) Total gross words per minute and number of errors; (3) Date the typing test was administered; and (4) Name of instructor or certifying official administering the test. Current Regional Transit employees in classifications with a typing requirement that is at or above the required net rate of 40 words per minute, do not need to submit typing certificates.
