Job Summary
Under general supervision, employees in this position will perform all tasks, duties, and responsibilities listed in all ATU clerical unit job descriptions, as assigned.

Other Job Functions: Perform the other job functions of the assigned ATU clerical unit position. Perform related duties as assigned, to include similar non-confidential duties on a temporary basis for non-bargaining unit clerical positions.

Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- General accounting principles and practices.
- Basic mathematics.
- Basic computer operations and various applications.
- Record keeping practices.
- Customer service and public relations techniques.
- Telephone etiquette and procedures.
- General office practices.
- Correct English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Ability to:
- Type accurately at a net rate of 45 words per minute.
- Calculate math and cash transactions accurately.
- Read English at a level necessary to process routine paperwork.
- Communicate verbally with the public and District personnel, in English and in a professional manner.
- Understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
- Use initiative and good judgement in making complex decisions.
- Write basic correspondence.
- Use standard office machines and specialized office equipment.
- May repeatedly lift objects up to fifty-five (55) pounds in the Revenue Center work location.
Minimum Qualifications — Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
High School diploma and two years District work experience as Payroll Technician or Computer Technician;
or
Four years of clerical accounting, cash handling or high volume public contact work experience;
or
Fifteen (15) semester units of completed college level accounting or math related course work can be substituted for each six months of work experience.
Must have a satisfactory attendance record and be eligible for bonding. Some assignments require possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License and a good driving record, as defined by the District.
