Job Summary
This classification is primarily responsible for performing the following duties: Supervise and schedule work activities of Transit Officers; act as liaison to Police Services and other contract security services; process citations and maintain department’s court calendar; investigate incidents, accidents and service complaints; analyze and maintain related statistical data.

Essential Functions
A. Supervisory Administrative.
Duties may include:
Supervise, guide, and counsel staff; plan, schedule and monitor work activities of staff; evaluate and prepare performance appraisals; evaluate, investigate, and recommend disciplinary actions when appropriate; may serve as the District's representative or member of hearing panels; develop and train staff in all aspects of required work activities, legal requirements and District’s policies, procedures, practices, and expectations; provide on-going and refresher training to District personnel as required; maintain training documentation according to District’s requirements; other duties as assigned.
B. Liaison to Police Services and other contract security services.
Duties may include:
Coordinate scheduling and daily activities of staff; coordinate assignments with various RT Departments and contract security services; disseminate information on current events, and policies and procedures to staff; establish communication with RTPS Supervisors and other contract security services regarding staffing and personnel issues; other duties as assigned.
C. Processes Citations and Maintains Court Calendar.
Duties may include:
Review, research and process citations; deliver citations to appropriate court center; pick up copy of court calendar, set and maintain staff court appearances, serve subpoenas, and disseminate appropriate information; prepare and maintain new violator lists and files; analyze, prepare and maintain related statistics and information; prepare reports as required; other duties as assigned.
D. Investigates Incidents, Accidents and Service Issues.
Duties may include:
Respond to and investigates injuries, accidents, incidents, and service issues according to the District's guidelines; respond to, evaluate, determine, and coordinate related emergency services; provide on-site supervision for related accident and emergency incidents when required; evaluate staff and operations to ensure that service is provided according to legal requirements and to agreed service levels; respond to and resolve customer conflicts, complaints and disputes; receive recommendations from the public and forward information to appropriate department; promote an excellent corporate image; other duties as assigned.
E. Analysis and Maintenance of Statistical Data.
Duties may include:
Collect, analyze, prepare and maintain citation information, subpoenas, trial logs, court documents, accident and incident investigation reports, monthly ridership reports, staff schedules and assignments, overtime statistics, and other required information; other duties as assigned.

A. Required Prior Education:
Candidate must possess a high school diploma or GED.
B. Required Prior Experience
Two (2) years of fare inspection or other transit security experience at a level comparable to the District's class of Transit Officer; OR four (4) years of general security or investigation experience. Supervisory experience is desirable, but not necessary.
C. Special Requirements:
Driver’s License: Positions in this classification require possession of a valid California driver’s license.
D. Required Knowledge of:
The District's geographic service area.
Authorized ordinances and laws pertaining to issuance of citations, and relative to the transportation industry.
Office equipment including computer, key data entry, copier, and fax machine.
